Processing

Processing Times

Most ESTA applications are processed within 72 hours. Apply at least 72 hours before departure.

CBP returns most ESTA decisions within 72 hours, and many within minutes. We recommend applying at least 72 hours before your departure. All applications enter the same government queue — no provider can speed up CBP's decision, and we will never charge you for a "rush" option.

ESTA Validity

  • Valid for 2 years from approval or until passport expiry — whichever is first.
  • Multiple entries to the US allowed during the validity period.
  • Each visit limited to 90 days. No extensions possible under VWP.
  • Renewal requires a completely new application.
  • Name or passport changes invalidate existing ESTA.

Factors That Affect Processing

  • Incomplete or inaccurate data — causes delays or denial.
  • Criminal history or previous immigration issues — triggers manual review.
  • High application volume periods — holiday seasons may increase wait times.
  • System maintenance — occasional downtime on CBP servers.

Do Not Wait Until Last Minute

Apply at least 72 hours before departure. Airlines may deny boarding without valid ESTA. There is no expedited processing available.
